NEW YORK, Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Q2, QVC's newly announced shopping/programming service, today announced that Stephen Chao, former President of Fox News, will join the channel to produce shows and source products with a distinct California point of view.
In addition to this producer/merchant role, Chao will also act as a consultant in the overall development of the new service.
Candice Carpenter, president of Q2, said, "I am delighted to have Stephen as a partner and creative contributor to Q2. This is the first of several producing relationships with high caliber producers in L.A. and New York with diverse and personalized programming visions."
Chao said, "Having spent much of my career in television, I think this is a rare opportunity to stretch the boundaries of a great medium as we attempt to alter the relationship between the viewer and the program."
Chao currently heads his own production company and currently has a motion picture development deal with 20th Century Fox. He was formerly at FOX, Inc., where he held a variety of positions including president of Fox News, President of Fox Television Stations, and Executive Vice President of Fox Television Stations Productions.
