PITTSBURGH, Aug. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- When you step into Morton's of Chicago, you're in for a first-class affair, a welcoming atmosphere, and a culinary experience that's considered legendary.
Nationally acclaimed, Morton's of Chicago is a recipient of prestigious industry awards, including the Nation's Restaurant News Fine Dining Hall of Fame and People magazine's nomination for "Best Steak House in North America." The restaurant went into full operation yesterday, serving near-capacity lunch and dinner crowds at its new location in CNG Tower.
"The reception has been tremendous," said Michael J. Archer, president of Morton's restaurants. "Of course, every great city appreciates great quality and Pittsburgh has been quick to respond."
Morton's is famous for its tableside menu presentation -- a skill that's masterfully carried out from start to finish. The restaurant serves only USDA prime cuts of aged, grain-fed beef, the freshest, hand- picked vegetables, and other choice entrees. These include whole Maine lobsters, fresh fish, Sicilian veal chops, domestic rib lamb chops, and an appetizing array of salads and a la carte selections. An extensive wine list and delicious desserts complete the course.
"Anyone who knows Morton's of Chicago, knows they can expect incredible food, incredible service and the finest grade of prime aged beef that's just not available at a local market or specialty store," Archer explained.
Noted for its generous portions, Morton's one-pound baked potatoes and 24-ounce porterhouse fill the plate. The restaurant uses an exclusive purveyor of beef and provisions that guarantee the finest quality foods at every sitting. Meat is shipped directly from its original base in Chicago. And seafood arrives daily from New England for fresh offerings of Grilled Swordfish, Smoked Pacific Salmon or Cockenoe Oysters on the Half Shell.
"Our customers know they're getting the finest quality and best value that money can buy," he added. "It's something we've built our reputation on from day one, and we're happy to bring this to Pittsburgh."
Open daily, Morton's is located at 625 Liberty Avenue. Lunch hours are Monday through Friday, 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.; dinner, nightly through Sunday, 5:30 - 11 p.m. The lounge opens daily, 11:30 a.m. to close.
