 STEFAN J. DIETRICH JOINS AMERICAN FILM TECHNOLOGIES
 AS CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
 NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Oct. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Stef Dietrich has been named vice president, chief financial officer of American Film Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: AFTI) (AFT), Joseph Taritero, chairman and chief executive officer, announced today.
 Dietrich, a certified public accountant, is replacing Patrick Brennan, who left American Film Technologies to pursue other opportunities.
 "Stef's extensive experience will have a positive impact on all aspects of our financial operations," Taritero said. "He provides AFT with the financial management our rapidly growing company needs, and he will play an important role in achieving our company goals."
 Since 1987, Dietrich has been the vice president/finance for Universal Studios Hollywood/MCA Inc., the nation's third-largest theme park. He also oversaw the financial activities of Yosemite Park & Curry Co. and MCA's 50-percent joint venture interest in Universal Studios Florida.
 Dietrich was vice president/controller for Ultrafuels Inc., a producer of renewable alternative fuels in Irvine, Calif., from 1986-1987. For two years prior to that, he was vice president/chief financial officer of Safeguard Health Enterprises Inc., a nationwide dental HMO.
 In 1980, he joined Global Marine Inc. as assistant corporate controller, and in 1981 was promoted to vice president control and administration, a post he held until 1984. Dietrich was an audit manager with Price Waterhouse in Los Angeles from 1970-1980.
 Graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1967 with a bachelor's degree in economics, Dietrich earned his master's in business administration degree in management at the University of Southern California in 1969. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Financial Executives Institute.
 Dietrich and his wife, Chris, currently reside in San Marino, Calif. with their four children.
 American Film Technologies Inc. is headquartered in Los Angeles with offices in New York and production facilities in San Diego and Tijuana. The company produces integrated digital animation and special effects for television and feature films. Breakthrough projects include the first animated short subject film to be completed entirely on an all-digital computer system -- "Gahan Wilson's Diner," to be released by Fox Film Corp. Founded in 1985, AFT is also the dominant supplier of film-coloring services to the entertainment industry.
