 STEEL INDUSTRY CEOs TO MEET WITH PRESS MAY 27
 The chief executive officers of five of the largest steelmaking


companies in North America will discuss the state of the U.S. and Canadian steel industries, their prospects, their problems and their public policy views at a 10 a.m. press briefing, Wednesday, May 27, in the Empire Room of New York's Waldorf-Astoria Hotel.
 The following CEOs will make brief statements and then take questions:
 -- Charles A. Corry, chairman and chief executive officer, USX Corporation
 -- Walter F. Williams, chairman and chief executive officer, Bethlehem Steel Corporation
 -- David H. Hoag, chairman and chief executive officer, LTV Corporation
 -- Frank W. Luerssen, chairman and chief executive officer, Inland Steel Industries
 -- Frederick H. Telmer, chairman and chief executive officer, Stelco Inc.
 -- Joseph F. Toot Jr., chairman, American Iron and Steel Institute, and president, The Timken Company, will preside over the session. Toot will deliver a major industry address at a luncheon in the Waldorf's Grand Ballroom following the special briefing for the press.
 The luncheon, open to the press, is the first event of the American Iron and Steel Institute's 100th General Meeting.
