CRUCIBLE debutant Craig Steadman knows what to expect when he takes on five-times champion Ronnie O'Sullivan today.

"I've heard horror stories," he said, "about walking down the stairs at the Crucible and your legs start crumbling" - that's how old the spectators are.

At 32, the Manchester-based potter is a latecomer to the Crucible but has been assured they won't start 'til he gets there.

With his shaven head, Steadman often gets mistaken for either Right Said Fred or the pink. He's not sure if red-hot favourite O'Sullivan will attempt to intimidate him or pot him.

O'Sullivan is 1-25 to win, which is the first sign of how massively the odds are stacked against Steadman. The second sign is that slap-head.

You can get 11-10 for O'Sullivan giving Steadman a six-frame start - money for old rope, which is something The Rocket could use as a cue today and still win.
