STC, Samsung in strategic tie-up.

Saudi Telecom (STC), the leading telecom operator in Saudi Arabia, and Samsung have joined forces towards offering Samsung's latest technologies and STC's expertise in delivering services and solutions to its customers.

"The objectives of this partnership go far beyond exchanging expertise and mutual interests to the enhancement the capabilities of both parties to introduce the best services, products and solutions," said Abdullah Al-Kanhal, general manager, Marketing at STC's Personal Sector.

"STC customers are the key target for all development processes, agreements and strategic partnerships that the company executes, be it introducing the latest in telecommunications technology or the provision of the most advanced services and solutions or facilitating social networking activities," he added.

Dr Ayman Manna, marketing manager of Samsung Mobile Saudi Arabia, pointed out that the agreement includes many elements such as the introduction of Samsung's latest smart and tablets devices into the Saudi market that are supported by leading services from STC.

STC launched Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet device powered by Google Android 3.1 Honeycomb with a dual core processor 1 GHz. The device operates on G3 and Wi-Fi networks and it comes with a 10.1 inch wide screen and weighs 589 grams making it the lightest in its category and with accuracy up to (WXGA) TFT 800X1280, a statement said.

The smaller version of the tablet device Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 was launched which is powered by Google Android 3.1 Honeycomb) system with a 1 GHz Dual core.
