GAME F1 2013 Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC. Out now F1 2013 achieves what Bernie Ecclestone and his billions have struggled to this year: full-throttle entertainment. As Sebastian Vettel romps his way towards a fourth straight world title, Codemasters' latest release reignites a passion lost in reality with the introduction of a classics mode and a hark back to when racing was interesting. Throwing a series of 1980s cars (and 1990s via download) round the corners of Brands Hatch and Jerez adds a new edge. Graphics are sharp and game play is as slick as its predecessor. Mid-session saving is welcome, while scenario mode and a snappy career season of 10 races offer bitesize bursts of racing fun. Next year's shake-up in F1's rules, along with next-gen consoles, will offer massive scope for change next time around. In the meantime F1 2013 sits at the top of its class. GAME THE LEGEND OF ZELDA WIND WAKER HD Nintendo Wii U. Out now Originally released on the GameCube back in 2003, this version of Link's high seas adventure isn't so much a remake as a restoration. At the time, Wind Waker's celshaded cartoon visuals were considered controversial; a decade on and redrawn in HD, they're even more striking and sumptuous. The game itself - a gentler take on the traditional dungeons and gadgets romp - holds up almost as well, Nintendo's judicious nips and tucks excising some of the padding that threatened to scupper the final reels. And while there's definitely a strong whiff of nostalgia amid the salt in the air, newcomers will be captivated by Wind Waker's charms too. ???? DAN SILVER
