ANAHEIM, Calif., Oct. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Statordyne Corp. (AMEX: STY.EC) announced today the signing of a distributor agreement for the United Mexican States with Americom S.A. DE C.V. of Mexico City. Americom, which has four offices throughout Mexico, specializes in the sales, installation and servicing of mechanical equipment, telecommunication systems and full turnkey installation of computer data centers in Mexico using American-made equipment. The agreement provides for the purchase by Americom of a self-contained 150 KVA Statordyne system. The system will be initially used for demonstration to its main customers and later used for a specific customer installation.
Americom and its affiliate companies employ over 450 people in Mexico and have more than 15 years of experience in markets directly related to the application of the Statordyne technology (telecommunications, data centers and industrial sites). They currently have relationships with the federally owned electric company, Telmex, Pemex, the hospital industry and the largest construction companies in Mexico.
James M. Moore, chairman and chief executive officer of Statordyne Corp., commented on the development of this agreement saying: "The signing of this arrangement keeps us on track with our marketing goals for the North American marketplace. The Americom staff is well established and respected within the Mexican States, and the Statordyne product line complements their current product offerings."
Moore reported that Americom's management had visited the AT&T Systems Leasing demonstration site to see the Statordyne system in operation on an IBM Mainframe computer and was very impressed with its performance. They are currently scheduling additional customer visits with interested clients in the next two weeks. No estimates of sales volume projections were disclosed.
Statordyne Corp., headquartered in Anaheim, is engaged in the design, manufacturing and marketing of a line of proprietary products in the power quality and no-break standby power services industries. Statordyne has an exclusive license on a patented power quality enhancement and generation technology that will protect power sensitive facilities such as hospitals, telecommunications centers, automated industrial applications and data processing sites against short duration electrical power disturbances and long-term outages of utility power.
