STATESWEST REPORTS FEBRUARY TRAFFIC RESULTS

 PHOENIX, March 8 /PRNewswire/ -- StatesWest Airlines Inc. reported February 1993 passenger enplanements were up 3.8 percent to 23,431, compared to 22,576 for February 1992. The carrier's February 1993 traffic capacity was 8,366,863 available seat miles (ASM) producing a load factor of 41.0 percent. ASMs for February 1992 totaled 9,591,837, producing a load factor for that period of 36.5 percent. Traffic decreased 1.9 percent to 3,431,216 revenue passenger miles, compared to the February 1992 figure of 3,499,247.
 Rudy R. Miller, chairman, president and chief executive officer of StatesWest, stated: "The airline's February operating results are very encouraging. The load factor was up and we carried more passengers with less aircraft in comparison to last year."

 StatesWest operates under code-share agreements with both USAir and Northwest Airlines, feeding flights for the total travel network for USAir and flights to the Pacific Rim system for Northwest Airlines. Traffic flows through the hub cities of Los Angeles and San Francisco. The airline operates approximately 4,000 monthly departures serving passengers in 13 western cities.
