 STATESWEST REPORTS FEBRUARY TRAFFIC RESULTS
 PHOENIX, March 9 /PRNewswire/ -- StatesWest Airlines Inc.


(NASDAQ: SWAL, SWALP) reported February 1992 passenger enplanements were up 37.5 percent to 22,576 compared to 16,420 for February 1991. The carrier's February 1992 traffic capacity was 9,591,837 available seat miles (ASM) producing a load factor of 36.5 percent. ASMs for February 1991 totaled 8,887,552 producing a load factor for that period of 32.8 percent. Traffic increased 19.9 percent to 3,499,247 revenue passenger miles compared to the February 1991 figure of 2,918,241.
 Rudy R. Miller, chairman, president and chief executive officer, said, "February results were positive and the last two weeks were especially strong." Miller continued, "Yields are continuing upward due to recent fare increases and our new yield management system. Initial March results show improved passenger confidence in the economy as more business passengers are booking reservations and once again flying. We anticipate March 1992 will be the best March in StatesWest's history."

 StatesWest, operating under a code-share agreement with both USAir and Northwest Airlines, has one of the most fuel efficient fleets of prop-jet aircraft in the United States. The airline operates more than 4,000 monthly departures serving passengers in 14 cities in California, Arizona and Nevada.
