STATESWEST AIRLINES PROVIDES CLARIFICATION OF INFORMATION

PHOENIX, March 1 /PRNewswire/ -- StatesWest Airlines Inc., Rudy Miller, president, chairman and chief executive of StatesWest Airlines wishes to correct the recent misstatement of information that Beech has agreed to waive or defer $3.6 million in accrued interest under the StatesWest's agreement with Beech Acceptance Corp. Inc. as reported in the Feb. 22, 1993, edition of The Arizona Republic.
Beech will receive monthly payments for 11 1900C Airliners retained by StatesWest. StatesWest has agreed that if StatesWest fails to timely meet any of its obligations to Beech during the next eight months, an additional sum of $3.6 million will become immediately due and payable to Beech as part of the enforcement provisions of the agreement with Beech. Beech did not waive or defer $3.6 million in accrued interest as inadvertently stated in the earlier article.
StatesWest operates under code-share agreements with both USAir and Northwest Airlines feeding flights for the total travel network for USAir, and flights to the Pacific Rim system for Northwest Airlines. Traffic flows through the hub cities of Los Angeles and San Francisco. The airline operates approximately 4,000 monthly departures serving passengers in 13 western cities.
