STATEMENT RELEASED BY PENNSYLVANIA SPECIAL OLYMPICS

 PHILADELPHIA, March 22 /PRNewswire/ -- The following was issued today by the Pennsylvania Special Olympics:
 After meeting with Mike Schmidt and organizers of the Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News Mike Schmidt Pro-Celebrity Challenge, Pennsylvania Special Olympics reaffirms its strong commitment to the tournament and its role as the charity beneficiary of the 1993 event.
 The meeting provided Schmidt with an opportunity to discuss the great progress of the 1993 event, and all participants look forward to an exciting and very successful second year of the tournament.
