STATEMENT FROM VALLEY FAIR SHOPPING CENTER GENERAL MANAGER
Following is a statement issued by John Petersen, general manager of Valley Fair Shopping Center:
On March 10, 1992, an incident took place which involved the abduction of a Valley Fair employee from the Valley Fair Shopping Center parking lot. The woman was subsequently released in Oakland.
The Valley Fair security force responded quickly with vital information which the police are using in their investigation. Further, our security force has been working closely with the police to assist them in any way possible.
The San Jose Police Department has asked us not to discuss any further information, since the release of such information may jeopardize the investigation.
Valley Fair Shopping Center has always placed a high priority on security. We continually evaluate our security measures to ensure the safety of our customers and employees. Our security force remains active and alert with mobile, bicycle, foot and roof patrols.
Further, the police department has increased their patrols in the area, providing an added safety net in our neighborhood.
There will be a press conference with John Petersen of Valley Fair Shopping Center and Officer Damon of the San Jose Police Department on Wednesday, March 18, at 3:15 p.m. in the Valley Fair Management Office located on the second level.
