STATEMENT BY MARVIN HOLEN, PRESIDENT, SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA RAPID TRANSIT DISTRICT, CONCERNING APPEAL COURT RULING ON PROPOSITION C
LOS ANGELES, March 5 /PRNewswire/ -- The following was issued today by Marvin Holen, president of the Southern California Rapid Transit District:
Recognizing that the plaintiff still has an opportunity to file an appeal with the California Supreme Court, today's Appeal's Court decision is a major, positive step forward in the legal process to ultimately determine whether Proposition C is valid.
We are confident that when the Supreme Court acts, Proposition C will be held valid and will provide the Southern California Rapid Transit District with funding that will allow us to continue our policy of stable fares and, hopefully, to expand bus service.
