STATEMENT BY HERBERT J. LANESE, EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT,
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER, McDONNELL DOUGLAS CORP.
ST. LOUIS, Sept. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Herbert J. Lanese, executive vice president and chief financial officer of McDonnell Douglas Corp. (NYSE: MD), issued the following statement:
We have watched with interest recent media reports speculating that White House approval of an F-15 sale to Saudi Arabia is imminent. Our understanding is that the Saudi Arabian request is still under review by the administration.
For the record, McDonnell Douglas has received no indication of what the administration's final decision will be. Therefore, we can neither confirm nor deny the accuracy of the media speculation.
We continue to be optimistic that the administration will support the sale.
