STATE-OF-THE-ART CHEMICAL RECOVERY TECHNOLOGY TO IRAN

MARIETTA, Ga., March 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Klockner Industrie-Anlangen GmbH in Germany has awarded Tampella Power a large contract for a chemical recovery plant in Iran.
This contract gives Tampella Power a foothold in the Iranian pulp and paper market.
The Sari Paper and Board Complex of the Mazandaran Wood and Paper Industries Company will be the end user of the plant. The complex is located in Mazandaran on the southern coast of the Caspian Sea.
The German company is a part of an international consortium supplying an entire pulp and paper complex to Mazandaran Wood and Paper Industries. Apart from Tampella Power's chemical recovery plant, the complex will include a woodyard, fiber lines, paper and board machines and a water treatment system. Several international companies will supply these units.
 Unique Technology
Tampella Power was chosen to supply the whole chemical recovery line. Tampella Power's share comprises a chemical recovery system for the NSSC and CMP pulp mills, comprising an evaporator plant, a recovery boiler and a spent liquor recovery system. In addition to the equipment and automation control systems, the order also involves erection and start-up supervision services.
The chemical recovery system will minimize the emissions from the Sari pulp mills. The Sari paper and board complex will only be able to keep to the extra stringent emission limits with the NSSC and CMP plant compatible chemical recovery system patented by Tampella Power. The chemical recovery application to a CMP pulp mill is a new market step for Tampella Power, too.
Tampella Power produces chemical recovery systems for the pulp and paper industry and power generation systems for industry and utilities. The company's principal markets are North America, Europe, the Far East and the Soviet Union. Tampella Power's North American subsidiary, Tampella Power Corporation, has operated in the United States since 1984. Tampella Power also has subsidiaries in Finland and a joint venture in the Soviet Union.
