STATE OF THE ART INC. ANNOUNCES 'CAFE'/2'; OVER 30 NEW ENHANCEMENTS
ADDED TO JOB COST AND PURCHASE ORDER PROCESSING
IRVINE, Calif., Dec. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Jennifer Lee-Wilson, vice president of sales for State Of The Art Accounting Software (NASDAQ: SOTA), announced today the release of a series of significant product enhancements to two of the company's high-end, vertical market accounting applications, Job Cost and Purchase Order Processing. The company has dubbed these enhancements as "CAFE'/2," the second such release from State Of The Art in as many months. CAFE' is the acronym for "Commonly Asked For Enhancements."
"CAFE'/2" features over 30 new material enhancements to two of the company's more industry-specific accounting applications," Wilson said. "This release is further evidence of the company's very real commitment to the continued evolution of our award-winning product line: MAS 90 EVOLUTION/2. Each and every enhancement was specifically requested by the company's authorized resellers and software consultants," said Wilson.
While the company's products have continuously been recognized for their power and ease-of-use in every product review and analysis in the last three years in which the company has participated, these commonly asked for enhancements to Job Cost and Purchase Order Processing will translate into even more powerful and easy-to-use accounting solutions for thousands of end-users, many of whom have already begun placing orders with the company's 4,900-plus authorized resellers and software consultants. The company believes that these material enhancements will enable their authorized resellers and software consultants to be more successful in the construction industry and other project-oriented markets.
The company's Job Cost Module will now enable users to separate transactions processed for the next period from those processed for the current period. Also, users may now partially bill time and material jobs by selecting individual work in process transactions to be billed, not billed or deleted. Work in process transactions not billed during the current billing will be retained until the next billing. The module has also been enhanced to allow retention invoices to be processed. Outstanding retention receivable balances are automatically transferred to Accounts Receivable.
Purchase Order Processing will now enable users to add new inventory items, miscellaneous charge codes and terms codes "on the fly," directly from the module's data entry programs. Freight expenses may now be allocated to inventory by quantity, weight or cost, thereby facilitating the accurate statement of gross profits. Also, a new password-protected option will allow receipt of a quantity in excess of the original quantity ordered, and individual vendor price levels may be established for specific vendors, product lines or inventory items based on standard cost, quantity of purchase or a specified discount method.
"Our customers and their clients have come to expect the latest and greatest in accounting software from State Of The Art," said Wilson. "Accordingly, we have developed a continuing stream of enhancements to the MAS 90 EVOLUTION/2 product line. CAFE'/2 is exactly what our authorized resellers and software consultants asked for." The company's authorized resellers and software consultants may purchase the CAFE'/2 enhancements in December at reduced rates and may purchase them thereafter at standard enhancement release pricing.
The company released CAFE' on Oct. 8 of this year, providing its authorized resellers and software consultants with over 50 new material enhancements to its "core-four" applications: General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Report Master.
State Of The Art develops, markets and supports high-end accounting software for microcomputers, and is available for all three industry standard operating environments: single-user DOS, Network and UNIX. The company's authorized resellers and software consultants, located throughout the United States, are comprised of over 3,900 public accounting firms and 1,000 professional value-added resellers who actively sell, recommend and support MAS 90 EVOLUTION/2. End-user list prices for most of the company's general accounting modules begin at $799 each, while vertical market applications begin at $999 each.
