 STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION TO MEET WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY
 The State Board of Education and its component councils will meet Wednesday and Thursday at 333 Market St., Harrisburg, Pa.
 On Wednesday, Jan. 8, at 1:30 p.m. the Council of Basic Education will meet in the Honors Suite to consider proposed special education regulations and a status report on proposed revisions to regulations covering school profiles, curriculum, and vocational-technical education.
 Also at 1:30 p.m., the Council of Higher Education will meet in the Learning Center to act on a petition from Jim Thorpe Area School District to become a sponsor of Lehigh County Community College.
 On Thursday, Jan. 9 at 8:30 a.m., the State Board of Education will meet in the Honors Suite to consider actions taken Wednesday by the Basic Education and Higher Education councils.
