STATE AWARDS LOAN TO NEW APPAREL FIRM IN READING

 HARRISBURG, Pa., April 27 /PRNewswire/ -- State Commerce Secretary Andrew T. Greenberg today announced $200,000 in state financing to help a new Reading clothing manufacturer purchase machinery and equipment.
 Charles Sakmann Golf Inc., which will manufacture golf clothing for men and women, expects to create 31 jobs. The low-interest state loan was awarded through the Apparel Industry Loan Fund.
 "We are aggressively using our low-interest loan programs to support new business opportunities that create manufacturing jobs for Pennsylvania's working men and women," Greenberg said.
 Since its inception in 1985, the Apparel Industry Loan Board has approved 59 loans totaling more than $7.1 million for projects that created 1,429 jobs and preserved 8,070 jobs.
