STARS BOOKSHOP BOOST; FINANCE.

Byline: Edited by GRAHAM HISCOTT

Fifteen celebrities are backing a new campaign to encourage people to support high street bookshops.

Actors Dominic Cooper, Richard E Grant, James Norton and Hayley Mills, along with Twiggy and Sir Michael Palin are among stars taking part in adverts for the Just a Book initiative.

Bookshop numbers dropped from 1,900 in 1995 to 880 in 2018, but are now showing signs of recovery. The Mirror is championing our town centres as part of a High Street Fightback campaign.

The Just a Book initiative, coinciding with Independent Bookshop Week, is being run with grassroots group Just a Card and finance firm Funding Circle.
