STAR INSURANCE COMPANY AND MEADOWBROOK INSURANCE GROUP ANNOUNCE AN UPGRADE IN RATING TO 'A-'

 SOUTHFIELD, Mich., July 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Star Insurance Company, an affiliate of the Meadowbrook Insurance Group, has earned an upgrade to an "A-" (Excellent) in its rating by A.M. Best Company.
 This upgrade represents a recognition of Star's consistent positive underwriting results and its innovative and successful alternative risk insurance products and programs.
 Star, formed in 1985, has projected premiums of $65 million for 1993.
 Savers Property & Casualty Insurance Company, a Star subsidiary, has been upgraded by A.M. Best to B++ (Very Good).
