STAR CLIPPERS AT CORAL GABLES OPEN FOR BUSINESS
DESPITE HARM FROM HURRICANE ANDREW'S WINDS
CORAL GABLES, Fla., Aug. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Star Clippers reservations department and all executive offices opened for business today, a bit slowed down, but with telephone access on both its "800" line and its conventional 305 area code, reported George Skip Muns, vice-president for sales of the cruise line whose two ships, Star Clipper and Star Flyer, are the two largest sailing clipper ships ever constructed. Bookings are being processed for agents both for Mediterranean and for Caribbean scheduled sailings, as well as for the two westbound transAtlantic cruises this season. Open and working are 800-442-0551 and 305-442-0550. Mail is being received and is being sent. Temporarily, the Star Clippers telefax line is not available for that service. It has been pressed into service as a main telephone line, pending further progress in returning Coral Gables to normalcy by the utility companies. The line's one-story headquarters building at 4101 Salzedo Avenue, Coral Gables, received comparatively minor damage to its roof and one conference room from the vicious storm of Monday morning, August 24, but lost power.
