STANFORD TELECOM ANNOUNCES CONTRACT AWARD FROM GENERAL SERVICES
 ADMINISTRATION TO SUPPORT THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION
 SANTA CLARA, Calif., Oct. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Stanford Telecommunications Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: STII) announced that it had been awarded a contract by General Services Administration (GSA), to provide advanced communication systems engineering support services to the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) communication systems engineering division, ASE-200. The contract has a potential value of $8,053,000 over a five-year period. The objective of the program is to assist FAA develop and define a roadmap for the telecommunications environment as FAA moves towards the 21st century. Stanford Telecom expects to make a significant contribution to this objective and will provide senior engineers in the areas of air/ground radio communication systems, switching systems, transmission systems, operations support systems for managing networks and international and domestic communications standards.
 Stanford Telecom's System Engineering Division (SED), located in Reston, Va. will manage and execute the program. Stanford Telecom has a broad base of experience in the application of advanced technology to telecommunications, navigation and traffic management for a diversified set of customers within the FAA, NASA and Dept. of Defense. Stanford Telecom designs, develops and manufactures sophisticated communications systems for both satellite and terrestrial applications. Stanford Telecom also provides full life-cycle support for its systems including field operations, maintenance, training and logistics support.
