STANFORD TELECOM ACQUIRES ASSETS OF RADIANCE ASSEMBLY SERVICES

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Jan. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Stanford Telecommunications Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: STII) announced that it has acquired essentially all the assets of Radiance Assembly Services Inc. of Fremont, Calif. The Radiance acquisition supports Stanford Telecom's strategic plans to expand its product-level business and its growing opportunities in producing wireless communications products for consumer and commercial applications.
Radiance has been a successful contract manufacturing firm employing approximately 60 employees. Under the terms of the agreement, Stanford Telecom will offer employment to all full time Radiance employees. Radiance's contract base is generating approximately $2 million in annual revenues. The former assets and employees of Radiance will operate within Stanford Telecom's Commercial Manufacturing and Quality Assurance (MQA) Division.
In announcing the acquisition, Bob Barron, vice president of Stanford Telecom's MQA Division said, "The acquisition of the expertise and customer base of Radiance couples well with Stanford Telecom's advanced materials management system and our experience in producing complete systems and products. Our expanded capabilities will allow Stanford Telecom the opportunity to penetrate a growing contract manufacturing services market segment. The acquisition will also allow us to better serve existing customers and provide manufacturing resources necessary to support the company's growth plans for consumer and commercial products."
Stanford Telecom designs, manufactures and operates electronic systems primarily for aerospace programs for government, international and commercial customers. These systems provide a variety of functions including communications, satellite navigation, earth observation and tracking, telemetry and control.
