ST. LUKE'S MEDICAL CENTER JOINS WISCONSIN HEALTH ORGANIZATION NETWORK
MILWAUKEE, Nov. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- St. Luke's Medical Center of Milwaukee is now a member of the Wisconsin Health Organization's (WHO) network of provider hospitals, Kipton Kaplan, president of WHO, announced today. This addition enables WHO members, whose physicians are on the St. Luke's staff, to receive treatment and be hospitalized there.
St. Luke's joins 17 other leading southeastern Wisconsin hospitals available to WHO members for their health care services.
With the addition of St. Luke's, the staff and services of Wisconsin's largest private hospital are now part of the Wisconsin Health Organization's network of hospitals. St. Luke's is considered one of the top five centers for cardiac care in the United States. In addition, its cancer program and Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic are pioneering new ways to treat cancer patients from Milwaukee and Wisconsin. Comprehensive primary care, specialty and surgical services are provided at the medical center by more than 2,000 health care professionals.
The total hospital network now available to WHO members includes the following southeastern Wisconsin hospitals: Burlington Memorial; Elmbrook Memorial; Community Memorial; Memorial Hospital of Oconomowoc; St. Catherine's, Kenosha; St. Joseph; St. Luke's, Milwaukee; St. Luke's, Racine; St. Joseph Community Hospital, West Bend; St. Mary's, Milwaukee; St. Mary's, Racine; St. Michael; St. Mary's Hospital, Ozaukee; St. Francis; Sinai Samaritan; Trinity Memorial; Waukesha Memorial and West Allis Memorial.
"The St. Luke's contract solidifies our provider network on the south side of Milwaukee and therefore provides WHO's south side membership a consistent level of high-quality service," a company spokesman said.
