ST. LOUIS STATION JOINS RADIO AAHS FAMILY

MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Children's Broadcasting Corporation (NASDAQ: AAHS) recently welcomed a St. Louis affiliate into its fold. The agreement, which was signed this week, brings the Radio AAHS total affiliate count to 19. The addition comes on the heels of signing the following seven stations in September: Spokane, Wash.; Eau Claire, Wis.; Idaho Falls, Idaho; Colorado Springs, Colo.; Las Vegas; San Luis Obispo, Calif.; and Grand Rapids, Mich. All stations are expected to go on the air by Jan. 1, 1994.
According to CBC president, Christopher T. Dahl, "The network is growing at the rate of a healthy kid. In the last year we have added stations so we now reach approximately 18 percent of the U.S. market."
Radio AAHS is a 24-hour national children's satellite network that encourages children to use their imaginations and to open the "theater of the mind" experienced by radio listeners prior to television. The company's programming includes music, stories, current events, weather, interative quizzes, interviews and discussions. The majority of Radio AAHS programming is devoted to entertaining and informing its listeners through the music its broadcasts. The music played on Radio AAHS is selected based on lyric content, entertainment and educational value, and listener responses and requests. Radio AAHS also introduces children to popular forms of classical, folk and jazz music.
To facilitate listener response, the network offers a toll-free number (800-55-AAHS-0) so kids across the country can phone in and chat or request a favorite song. Last month Radio AAHS received 150,000 calls.
Launched in October 1992, the network is currently broadcasting in the following markets: the flagship station WWTC 1280 AM in Minneapolis; KPLS 830 AM, Los Angeles; KCTQ 850 AM, Ventura County, Calif.; WKDL 1050 AM, Washington, D.C.; KKDS 1060 AM Salt Lake City; Dallas, KAHZ 1360 AM; KIDR 740 AM, Phoenix; KYYD 1340 AM, Abilene, Texas; and WKDV 1460 AM, Manassas, Va.; as well as two new stations in Balitmore and Denver which will start broadcasting this month.
