SSgt Dustin J. Harrington is the NCOIC, 3rd Wing Budget assigned to the 673rd Comptroller Squadron, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. SSgt Harrington was born in Denver, CO and graduated from Waukegan High School in May 2000. He entered the Air Force and arrived at Lackland AFB in May 2002 for basic training.
He then attended technical training at Sheppard AFB and was assigned as a customer support apprentice. His impeccable performance garnered him 82d CPTS and 82d Wing Staff Agencies Airman of the Quarter awards for January-March 2005 and April-June 2005. SSgt Harrington then became a special actions technician assigned to the 30th CPTS, Vandenberg AFB in December 2005. As the deployment line lead for finance, he efficiently deployed 45 Airmen to 17 countries. He again received high accolades and was recognized as the Air Force Space FM NCO of the Qtr and 30th CPTS NCO of the year in 2008.
In March 2008, SSgt Harrington deployed to Baghdad, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He supported 746 special operation forces throughout Iraq and secured $3.9 million of mission critical items. SSgt Harrington managed a $90 million budget which supported two combat battalions.
SSgt Harrington PCS'd to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson as a financial analyst in December 2009. SSgt Harrington is currently responsible for the 3rd Wing and 1st Air Support Operations Group annual budget of $44 million. His was recognized as the 673 CPTS NCO of the year for 2011. SSgt Harrington is a tremendous asset to the USAF and to the FM community. There is no doubt he deserves the title of ACES HIGH!
