 SRI APPOINTS NEW SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF ENGINEERING
 MENLO PARK, Calif., April 14 /PRNewswire/ -- The board of directors of SRI International has appointed John P. McHenry as senior vice president of the engineering research group.
 McHenry will be responsible for the $100 million plus group and its 800 person staff, which is involved in basic research and development in such areas as robotics, communications, remote sensing and computer science.
 SRI's Engineering Research Group has led in the development of a number of high technologies. For instance, it developed Over the Horizon Radar, led early research efforts on the computer "mouse" and a number of other human-computer interface techniques, and has been a principal factor in a number of advanced biomedical techniques, including advances in ultrasound.
 McHenry was previously vice president of SRI's advanced development division. He joined SRI in 1966 as a research engineer and has served in various management positions since 1972. Prior to joining SRI, he was a design engineer at Boeing. He received his B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Washington and an M.B.A. from the University of Santa Clara.
