SQUASH: Flint twin victory bid fails.

LE Sport denied Division Two champions Flint an historic double by pulling off a 3-2 victory in the North Wales Cup final.

Le Sport had to graft all the way after wins from Laurie Jones and Pat Bevan pulled Flint level. World-class senior Phil Whitlock and teenager Mark Carnell got the Rhos-on-Sea side off to a flying start but it took a nerveless performance from Richard Eastwood in the decider with Simon Dutton to clinch it.

Relegated Kent Supplies Seconds ended in triumph, sinking Wrexham Juniors 4-1 to lift the Plate. Wrexham's Robert Evans won in straight games but the Mold team rallied for Ian Humphreys, Paul Day, Clinton Lewis and Dave Mitchell to romp home
