SPYING ON COUPLE'S WORKLIFE.

COVENTRY couple John and Ann Armstrong first had us cringing with their David Brent-style management when their works knees-up went wrong in the 2003 documentary The Office Christmas Party.

Now the pair, who run the U-Fit double glazing firm, are back in their own fly-on-the-wall series The Armstrongs (BBC2, Wednesday).

They have their own, often hilarious, way of running their business, much of it gleaned from the self-improvement manual Success Through A Positive Mental Attitude. Though Ann's habit of monitoring her staff's internet use and spying on them with CCTV doesn't go down too well.

"I'm going to have to put my foot down with a firm hand," is one of her more amusing pronouncements.
