SPSC age cut-off.

Byline: Shizza Mustafa - Karachi

THE Sindh Public Service Commission's Feb 19 informed the public about the conduct of the Combined Competitive Examinations (CCE), 2018.

The eligibility criterion for appearance in the written examination says that the aspirant should be below 30 years on Sept 1. The witten examination willl be held on Sept 4.

The screen-out test, to be held on May 12, is actually a continuation of the written examination as only qualified candidates after the screen-out test will be eligible for the written exam. However, there are aspirants who would like to appear at the said examination, and who would have not attained the age of 30 years when the process will start, i.e., the date for the screen-out test on May 12.

Thus placing the age cut-off date on Sept 1 is unjustified, and against the guidelines issued by the SPSC. The has arbitrarily mentioned the date of eligibility as Sept 1 against the norms of natural justice and fair play. The SPSC should correct the discrepancy.
