SPRINT TO PROVIDE EXPO '92 TELECOM SERVICES

SPRINT TO PROVIDE EXPO '92 TELECOM SERVICES
KANSAS CITY, Mo., April 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Sprint (NYSE: FON) has

announced it is the official telecommunications provider for the United States Pavilion at the 1992 World's Fair -- Expo '92 -- in Seville, Spain. The fair starts April 20 and will conclude Oct. 12.
Sprint is providing telecommunications services to the United States Information Agency organizing committee during Expo '92, and will supply voice, data, videoconferencing and fax services at the U.S. Pavilion.
Sprint also will be responsible for telecommunications services, including video teleconferencing in the VIP lounge, at the U.S. Pavilion. In addition, Sprint will have a telecommunications exhibit, adjacent to the General Motors theater, highlighting the role of communications in the global community and the company's capabilities. Telephones at the exhibit will enable visitors to call the United States using Sprint Express, a service that connects overseas callers with Sprint operators via a local toll-free number.
The theme of the Sprint exhibit is "Sin Fronteras" (Without Boundaries) and will feature a world map of Columbus' route to the New World overlaid with the Sprint fiber map. Visitors will see a 500-year-old view of the world -- and a modern Sprint view of it -- and have the opportunity to use a touch screen for a one-minute presentation in a variety of languages.
"It is an honor to be providing telecommunications services and have an exhibit at the World's Fair," said Paolo Guidi, president of Sprint International. "Millions of people from around the globe will be visiting Seville to see the very latest in technology. We are proud to showcase Sprint's international capabilities."
In addition to its telecommunications role, Sprint has agreed to serve as a leading corporate sponsor for the Kansas City exhibit at Expo '92. Kansas City, world headquarters for Sprint and sister city to Seville, will be the only major U.S. city with an exhibit.
Sprint is a diversified international telecommunications company with $8.8 billion in annual revenues and the United States' only nationwide, all-digital, fiber-optic network. Its divisions provide global long distance voice, data and video products and services, and local telephone services to more than 4 million subscriber lines in 17 states.
