 SPRINT TO OFFER FREE CALLING TO AMERICAN AIRLINES PASSENGERS
 CHICAGO, Oct. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Sprint (NYSE: FON) and American Airlines today announced a consumer service that will allow international travelers leaving Chicago on American Airlines flights to make free long distance telephone calls to anywhere in the world from O'Hare International Airport beginning Oct. 12 and continuing through Nov. 1.
 Ticketed American Airlines international passengers will be able to place free 3-minute long distance calls at a Sprint booth between gates 13 and 15 in the K Concourse of Terminal 3.
 The booth will be operational between 1-9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday. Members of American's Admirals Club also will be able to make free telephone calls and send fax copies using Sprint long distance service in the Admirals Club.
 "This arrangement with Sprint offers a unique opportunity for our passengers, particularly those who are leaving for overseas destinations from O'Hare," said Jim Gunn, American's vice president- Chicago. "Sprint's generosity will allow business and leisure travelers to make last-minute calls before departing for their final destinations."
 "Our goal is to show travelers how user-friendly Sprint's services are to use," said Dave Schmieg, president of Sprint's Consumer Services Group. "People on the go need services that will fit their needs."
 Sprint also will offer passengers simple instructions on how to make calls from an international destination back to the United States using Sprint Express, Sprint's service that enables callers to dial a toll-free number for access to Sprint's network.
 While at O'Hare, American Airlines passengers also may sign-up for Sprint long distance for their homes and receive up to 70 minutes of free Sprint (residential or FONCARD) long distance service.
 "Long distance communications are extremely critical when traveling internationally, and it's important that travelers know the options available to them," said Patti Manuel, vice president and general manager of Sprint's Major Accounts Group in Chicago.
 "By working with American Airlines, we are enabling passengers to sample Sprint's superb international capabilities by allowing them to get in touch with relatives, colleagues and friends at no charge."
 American is the largest international carrier at O'Hare. In addition to service to Mexico and Canada, American flies nonstop to Sweden, Brussels, Scotland, England, France, Germany, Switzerland and Italy. American and its regional airline partner, American Eagle, operate more than 900 flights in-and-out-of O'Hare each day.
