SPRINT TO GIVE AWAY ONE YEAR OF FREE LONG DISTANCE
 TO CELEBRITY LOOKALIKE
ATLANTA, Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Do you look like Marilyn Monroe, Magic Johnson or John Wayne? If you are a lookalike to one of these celebrities, you could win a year of free Sprint long distance.
Sprint will sponsor a "Celebrity Lookalike Contest" at Perimeter Mall on Saturday, Sept. 12, at 1 p.m. to introduce shoppers to the company's highly successful residential calling plan, "The Most."
"The Most" Celebrity Lookalike Contest is part of a Sprint nationwide mall campaign, which lasts until Sept. 20. It offers mall shoppers free three-minute Sprint phone calls to anywhere in the world, along with pictures of them taken with life-size cutouts of three famous celebrities.
Since Aug. 12, Sprint has given away an estimated 2,700 free long distance phone calls at Perimeter Mall. Visitors to the mall have taken the opportunity to call in the United States and to Italy, Germany, Mexico, Ireland and many other exciting countries for free.
Shoppers also receive a check good for $20, which may be used toward mall merchandise, when they sign up for Sprint's "The Most" calling plan and use at least $10 worth of Sprint long distance service in any one month during the first three months.
"Sprint wants to make consumers across the country aware of the savings and value associated with 'The Most' calling plan," said Dave Schmieg, president of Sprint's Consumer Services Group. "Unlike other calling programs, customers do not have plan restrictions on receiving discounts and are not restricted to a calling circle or limited calling area.
"Since the calling plan was announced in June, the response has been tremendous," Schmieg said.
Sprint (NYSE: FON) is a diversified international telecommunications company with $8.9 billion in annual revenues and the United States' only nationwide all-digital, fiber-optic network. Its divisions provide global long distance voice, data and video products and services, and local telephone services to more than 4 million subscriber lines in 17 states.
