SPRINT SIGNS THREE-YEAR CONTRACT WITH UNISYS
KANSAS CITY, Mo., Feb. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Sprint today announced

a three-year agreement with Unisys Corp. (NYSE: UIS) for VPN and FONCARD services. This agreement is an expansion of Sprint's services to Unisys, which also include Ultra 800 service and videoconferencing.
The new virtual private network service gives Unisys access to a software-defined network that has the flexibility of a private network but not the capital investment. And along with basic features including direct seven-digit dialing, Sprint's VPN provides fully digital transmission, allowing Unisys to send voice, data and video applications across the same facilities. Sprint's FONCARDs provide Unisys with access to Sprint's all-digital, fiber-optic network for calls made away from the office.
"Sprint offered us the best combination of price, flexibility and telecommunications technology," said Gilbert W. Piddington, Unisys vice president of Worldwide Telecommunications. "This contract will give us significant savings over the next three years."
"We're pleased that the technology experts at Unisys recognize Sprint's technological leadership in voice, data and video communications," said Dave Dorman, president of Sprint's Major Accounts Group.
Unisys is a leading information systems company with more than 60,000 employees and 60,000 customers in over 100 countries. The company manufactures commercial information systems, defense systems and related services. It has a 20-year history of providing computers to telephone companies and has an installed base of more than $1.5 billion in the international telecommunication markets.
Sprint is a unit of United Telecommunications, Inc. (NYSE: UT), a diversified international telecommunications company with $8.8 billion in revenues. Sprint, with the United States' only nationwide all-digital, fiber-optic network, provides a comprehensive array of global voice, data and video communications products and services.
