SPRINT PLANS STILL BEAT THE COMPETITION, TRAC SURVEY SHOWS

/ADVANCE/ KANSAS CITY, Mo., May 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Sprint's popular long distance calling plans still beat the competition with no hidden costs, no restrictions and no requirements, as shown by data contained in the latest survey conducted by Telecommunications Research and Action Center (TRAC).
"Sprint's residential calling plan, The Most, offers the most savings with the least restrictions. The Most is the only plan with guaranteed savings, no matter who or where you call. Sprint beat AT&T's new discount plan by as much as 23 percent, or an average of 16 percent. Sprint also beat MCI's most popular carrier specific plan in every category," said Dave Schmieg, president of Sprint's Consumer Services Group.
Even when compared to the plan TRAC identifies as AT&T's least expensive plan, Sprint's The Most saves customers in 14 out of 15 sample bills or call baskets. Sprint's volume discount plan, Sprint Plus, saves customers in 11 out of 15 call baskets.
Sprint's The Most, introduced last June, is the most popular plan Sprint ever introduced for residential calling. Sprint's The Most leads the industry in convenience and ease with automatic savings for customers. The Most offers rates that start below both Sprint's and AT&T's standard rates. TRAC noted, "There are no sign up fees, monthly minimums or other fees to be on The Most."
Unlike competitors' plans, there are no restrictions on who you call with The Most. The Most is completely automatic -- no fees, no hourly commitment, and it does NOT require you to talk with other Sprint customers to get savings. You get a 20 percent discount on the number you call the most -- no matter which carrier that person uses. There are no monthly minimums. Whether you spend $1 or $100 or more, you get a 20 percent saving on the number you call the most each and every month.
A 20 percent discount on any calls to other Sprint customers is added to The Most minutes discount. If the most frequently called number is also a Sprint customer, your total discount is 36 percent. The discounts are applied automatically.
Sprint Plus, the only volume discount plan in the industry, was cited by TRAC as "consistently the cheapest option in the TRAC chart for consumers who spend more than $200 a month in long distance."
Sprint Plus, like The Most, offers automatic savings and does not require you to sign up in advance to get discounts within a certain area code, during a certain time period, for calls to other Sprint customers or to other members of a calling circle.
"Sprint offers the best savings and the least restrictions across the board," Schmieg says. "The industry is more competitive than ever. It pays for consumers to look at other carriers and not assume that the deal they are getting from their current long distance company is the best they can get," Schmieg said.
