 SPRINT ANNOUNCES ENHANCEMENTS TO ITS FONVIEW PRODUCT LINE;
 TESTING UNDER WAY FOR EDI INVOICES
 KANSAS CITY, Mo., Dec. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Sprint announced today that it has made a series of enhancements to FONVIEW(sm), its comprehensive, PC-based telecommunications management system that enables customers to receive and manage billing Information via computer disk.
 The company also announced that it is currently testing electronic Data Interchange (EDI) 811, the industry standard billing format, which provides long distance bills electronically via SprintMail. Sprint is currently successfully beta testing EDI 811 with Union Pacific Railroad. Plans call for the company to offer the invoicing service early in 1992 to other customers.
 A new FONVIEW ReBilling System (RBS) Version 3.0 module is now available to work with the base FONVIEW software and offers a wide array of state-of-the-art billing flexibility features. With FONVIEW RBS, customers can re-rate calls, allocate taxes to customer-defined entities and create customized bills internally.
 RBS Version 3.0 enables customers to define organizational entities -- locations, departments, clients, individual employees, etc.. -- as specific 10-digit numbers, 800 numbers, FONCARD(sm) numbers, accounting codes and originating or terminating phone numbers. Customers also can select a report by entity and sort and summarize all values (up to 500) associated with that entity.
 Names can now be added to the report subtotals, instead of (or in addition to) the value, such as an accounting code for added flexibility. With RBS, internal costs can be allocated to external clients.
 "In this day and age business people are demanding tools that will increase their productivity and FONVIEW is the answer," said Ron LeMay, Sprint president and chief operating officer. "The flexibility of the system enables customers to have sophisticated telecommunications reports at their fingertips in a matter of seconds. That's the kind of responsiveness necessary to compete in today's business world effectively."
 FONVIEW Version 3.0 represents the third release of FONVIEW software since the Sprint FONVIEW system was originally introduced in September 1989.
 Some key enhancements to FONVIEW (Version 3.0) include:
 -- Maintaining data on multiple Sprint services or sites
 (accounts) on a single PC hard drive with one set of FONVIEW
 System disks.
 -- Customer-selected format options for printing reports.
 -- New Call Summaries, including Country and Most Frequently
 Called Number reports.
 The FONVIEW system is designed for customers billing from $250 to $100,000 each month. Sprint FONVIEW customers even have a toll-free Technical Support Helpline 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday, available to answer any questions that might arise.
 "When we originally introduced FONVIEW it was state-of-the-art in billing management and these enhancements keep it that way," said LeMay. "This is the kind of value-added service that enables us to not only provide the best in long distance, but the best in billing data management support as well."
