 SPRINT AND PICTURETEL SIGN CO-MARKETING AGREEMENT
 DANVERS, Mass., Aug. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- PictureTel Corporation


(NASDAQ: PCTL) today announced an agreement whereby Sprint (NYSE: FON) will co-market PictureTel's family of popular videoconferencing systems to Sprint's network customers throughout the United States.
 The agreement, which takes effect immediately, adds the world leading provider of dial-up (56Kbps to 384Kbps) videoconferencing to Sprint's portfolio of videoconferencing solutions.
 Sprint will actively work with both PictureTel's direct and indirect sales channels to implement the agreement which complements PictureTel's accord with North Supply signed in 1991.
 "This agreement extends PictureTel's leadership position in the market place and will translate directly into expanded market coverage by teaming with one of the global giants in telecommunications," said K. Michael Hickerson, vice president and general manager-U.S. sales and service division. "Sprint's customers have demanded PictureTel products and now will be able to acquire these popular systems with the convenience of one-stop shopping through Sprint's extensive sales channels."
 PictureTel Corporation, headquartered in Danvers, Mass., develops, manufactures and markets software-upgradeable visual telecommunications products for worldwide use with public and private digital networks. PictureTel videoconferencing systems enable dial-up, full-motion video calls with the convenience and economy of ordinary telephone service.
