SPRINT, FUJITSU TEAM UP TO PROVIDE ENHANCED BUSINESS SOLUTIONS
KANSAS CITY, Mo., June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Sprint (NYSE: FON) and Fujitsu Business Communication Systems, a manufacturer of advanced communication systems, announced today that the two companies have entered into a marketing agreement that will allow business customers to get their telecommunications equipment and long distance service from one point of contact.
Under the agreement, Fujitsu will market Sprint's business communication services, including Sprint Clarity and private line facilities, to its business customers.
The initial agreement provides Sprint with new distribution channels while allowing Fujitsu to expand its abilities to provide communications solutions. Fujitsu sales representatives will be trained to help new and existing Fujitsu customers identify telecommunications needs that can benefit from Sprint's comprehensive line of business communication services. In addition, Fujitsu and Sprint sales representatives will coordinate team sales efforts to provide prospective customers with a full range of communication systems and network services.
"As a leader in the business communication systems marketplace, we are constantly looking for ways we can enhance the value we offer our customers," said Tony Carollo, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Fujitsu Business Communication Systems. "Combining the advanced technology found in our F9600 and Starlog digital PBX systems with Sprint's nationwide digital fiber-optic network allows us to offer the highest quality products and services while providing our customers with one point of contact for their communication solutions."
The agreement also provides a platform for future development of joint marketing and products/services opportunities. Building upon the relationship announced today, Fujitsu and Sprint are continuing to explore a broader partnership agreement which would take advantage of the companies' respective expertise in advanced communications equipment and network services.
"This agreement will help simplify the way a business manages and receives its telecommunications services," said Gary Forsee, president of Sprint's Business Services Group. "Fujitsu has long been known for quality business communication systems. Sprint is looking forward to working with Fujitsu, a company with a long tradition of superior products and services."
