SPRINT, DIRECTORYNET TO MARKET ELECTRONIC WHITE PAGES

ATLANTA, May 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Sprint (NYSE: FON) announced today that its long distance division has begun jointly marketing, with DirectoryNet, Inc., an on-line electronic telephone directory service to business customers.
The marketing arrangement allows Sprint to offer Electronic White Pages service through DirectoryNet, Inc., to existing and new customers of either company.
"Our arrangement with DirectoryNet is tangible proof of our continuing commitment to provide full-service capabilities to our customers," said Kevin Brauer, president, Business Market Group for Sprint.
"Our research shows that DirectoryNet provides the most robust, effective and economic electronic white pages service available on the market today," he added. "We are proud to offer such a pre-eminent service to our customers."
Electronic White Pages allows electronic access to the directory assistance data bases of local telephone companies nationwide. Information is delivered to a user's desktop terminal in minutes. More than 120 million addresses and phone numbers are available through these data bases, which are updated daily by the telephone companies. Electronic White Pages uses the SprintNet public data network to access and deliver the service.
According to Larry Mancini, president of DirectoryNet: "Our service is interactive and the SprintNet network plays an important role in making it effective. This close relationship with Sprint allows us to work together in developing the best solution for customers."
The service is particularly attractive to businesses that extend credit and need to quickly verify addresses and telephone numbers of their customers.
DNI's nationwide service is based on a similar on-line Electronic White Pages that has been successfully marketed in Australia for more than four years. DNI is a wholly owned subsidiary of Telstra Corporation Limited, formerly Telecom Australia. DNI's North American headquarters is located in Atlanta.
Sprint is a diversified international telecommunications company with more than $10 billion in annual revenues and the United States' only nationwide all-digital, fiber-optic network. Its divisions provide global long distance voice, data and video products and services, local telephone services to nearly 6 million subscriber lines in 19 states, and cellular operations that serve 42 metropolitan markets and more than 50 rural service areas.
