   SPRINGER NAMED SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF SANTA FE PACIFIC CORP.
    SCHAUMBURG, Ill., Dec. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Denis Springer has been promoted to senior vice president, treasurer and chief financial officer of Santa Fe Pacific Corp. (NYSE: SFX) and Santa Fe Railway effective Jan. 1, 1992, announced Robert D. Krebs, chairman, president and chief executive officer, today.
    Springer, 45, joined the company as director-finance for Santa Fe Industries in 1982.  He was appointed assistant vice president-finance in 1988 and vice president, treasurer and chief financial officer in January 1991.
    He earned a bachelor of science degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1967 and a master of business administration degree from the University of Chicago in 1969.  He and his wife, Roselyn, reside in Palatine with three of their four children.
