SPRING ISSUE OF THE BOSTON GLOBE'S THE YOUNG READER FOCUSES ON NATIONAL READING THEME -- BOOKS CHANGE LIVES

 BOSTON, April 20 /PRNewswire/ -- The Library of Congress' 1993-1994 national reading theme -- Books Change Lives -- is the focus of The Boston Globe's Spring '93 issue of The Young Reader, the paper's quarterly newsletter about children and reading.
 Written by the Globe's children's book editor Stephanie Loer, The Young Reader is offered free as a public service by the paper with the submission of a stamped, addressed envelope.
 Loer lists 20 books for children of all ages that parents, librarians, and teachers fell might have a significant impact on a child's life. Included are picture books and books for younger, middle and older readers.
 Also included in the issue is a recommended list of 11 reference books for chiful forachers, and children's librarians in keeping up-to-date on activities, trends, and what's good in children's books.
