ALTHOUGH Coventry people are cynical about their little football team it never ceases to amaze me how many people take to the road to lend their support at away games.
I was a little surprised at the chants of "Strachan out" at White Hart Lane and the frantic rants that were erupting around me at 3-0.
But let's face it, it cost pounds 40 for a truly awful afternoon. It was freezing, humiliating and hopeless, but the singing and enthusiasm from the Coventry supporters was exceptional.
People talk about North-East and Scouse supporters, but the travelling Coventry public are one of the little known vocal sensations of the English game - they've deserved so much more over the last 34 years.
Simon Moody, Stoke Heath.
oTHREE things need to be done straight away at Coventry City.
One, sack Gordon Strachan.
Two, bring back Bobby Gould or John Sillett.
Three, cut the number of away fans allowed into Highfield Road by half as we are the only club that allocates so many and throw away our home advantage.
If these things are done then we might just have a chance of staying up.
S Bridges, Sutherland Avenue, Eastern Green.
oHOW much more?
Bryan Richardson says City must get 14 or 15 points from the next 24 - after only amassing 24 from 90 so far - and we will be safe.
Are the other clubs going to lie down and die while we get these points? Bryan, we need eight points just to jump above Middlesbrough now.
I have one message for you Bryan - Strachan is staying, I am going. I have already asked for a refund on my season ticket.
Next season I may give golf a try.
Steve Clifford, Bedworth.
oSO the Sky Blues chairman says Gordon Strachan is staying.
Well if he stays myself and three sons go.
We will not attend any more Coventry City matches as long as this inept manager is anywhere near our club.
A C Metcalfe, Davenport Road, Earlsdon.
