SPORTS-UTILITIES WILL HEAT UP SUNROOF SALES ACCORDING TO LEADING SUNROOF MANUFACTURER

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., Oct. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Sport-utility vehicles will provide the next sales boom for sunroofs as more sport- utility vehicle buyers demand car-like features, according to Joseph R. Corace, president and CEO of sunroof supplier Inalfa Hollandia, Inc.
"Consumers are using sport-utility vehicles as their primary means of transportation more than ever," Corace said. "As they spend more time in these vehicles, consumers demand comfort and convenience options, such as sunroofs."
Sport-utility vehicles are increasing in popularity among baby- boomers and so are sunroofs, according to Corace. Sunroofs provide an open-air feeling, reminiscent of the convertibles many baby-boomers drove in their youth. In addition, sunroofs add luxury and style to sport-utility vehicles.
"The combination of consumer demand for sport-utilities and consumer demand for sunroofs makes this vehicle segment a natural," Corace said. "Automakers who are quick to capitalize on the sport-utility, sunroof combination will make a lot of customers happy."
Currently, Inalfa Hollandia supplies an electric-sliding sunroof for the Chrysler Jeep Grand Cherokee, which is the first North American- produced sport-utility vehicle to offer a factory-installed, full- featured sunroof.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee features Inalfa Hollandia's tilt-vent-slide sunroof design which retracts under the roof panel with minimal loss of headroom. The sunroof is reinforced front to back for added durability in rugged off-road conditions.
Based in Farmington Hills, Inalfa Hollandia, Inc., is one of North America's leading suppliers of electric-sliding sunroofs to the automotive industry. Currently, its contract with Saturn is the single- largest sunroof contract in North America.
Inalfa Hollandia, Inc., an American company with an international heritage, is part of a global network of sunroof suppliers with customers throughout North America, the Pacific Rim and Europe.
