SPORTS-TECH INTRODUCES VIDEO SCOUT' FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Nov. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Sports-Tech
International, Inc. (NASDAQ: STXL) today announced the establishment of the Video Scout, a national clearing house for high school sports game tapes.
During the 1991-1992 season, Sports-Tech will tape 150 key Florida high school football games featuring the top college prospects in the state of Florida. (Sports-Tech identified a total of 459 recruits, 42 of whom are considered "top" recruits.) The games are shot in high-quality S-VHS format. Sports-Tech plans to shoot important high school games in other areas such as Texas, Ohio and California starting with the 1992-1993 season. In conjunction with the Florida Video Scout program, high school football coaches from all across the country are sending tapes of their high school games to the Video Scout for entry into the library. These tapes are added to the weekly list sent to college recruiting coaches at no cost to the high school. Coaches learn of the Video Scout through national trade advertising and special promotions at trade shows. And Sports-Tech's telemarketing department makes daily phone calls to coaches around the country to ask them to send in their game tapes. Each week, an updated list of the Video Scout's game tapes and programs is mailed to a comprehensive database of college recruiters. Recruiters at all levels and divisions are offered access to the library through advertisements and marketing materials. And college recruiters have an ongoing invitation to come to Sports-Tech's corporate offices to view as many game tapes as they wish. Within the past 30 days, Sports-Tech has accumulated football game tapes of 336 high schools and received purchase orders from 12 colleges. Orders are expected to increase rapidly once the football season ends and recruiting efforts intensify. Sports-Tech, based in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., develops and markets proprietary video systems to professional, collegiate and high school sports teams. Customers include 14 NFL teams, 12 NBA teams, one major league baseball team, four NHL teams, 127 college football and basketball teams and 78 high school football teams. -0- 11/11/91 /CONTACT: Michael Levy, chairman of Sports-Tech International, Inc., 305-772-9155/ (STXL) CO: Sports-Tech International, Inc.
