 EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
 LOS ANGELES, Jan. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Ronald Lightstone has been named executive vice president and chief operating officer of Spelling Entertainment, it was announced today by S. Craig Lindner, chief executive officer of Spelling Entertainment. Lightstone, in assuming the position of chief operating officer, succeeds Jules Haimovitz, who recently announced his resignation.
 In his new position, Lightstone will be actively involved in overseeing Spelling Entertainment's operations, including Worldvision Enterprises, Hamilton Projects and Spelling Films International.
 Lightstone has served as executive vice president, Spelling Entertainment, since its organization in March 1989. Prior to the formation of Spelling Entertainment, Lightstone had been executive vice president, Aaron Spelling Productions, a position he had held since February 1988. He began his career with the CBS and NBC Television Networks, then joined Viacom International Inc. in 1970 as associate general counsel. In 1976 he was named vice president, general counsel of the company.
 Lightstone subsequently served as vice president, business affairs for the Viacom Entertainment Group, then, in 1982, he was named senior vice president, corporate and legal affairs, Viacom International Inc.
 Spelling Entertainment Inc. is primarily engaged in the development, production and worldwide distribution of television series, movies for television, and television mini-series, as well as the distribution of feature films internationally. The company also produces feature films financed and distributed primarily by major studios and licenses music and merchandising rights associated with its television properties.
