SPEEDWAY: Bees called off to avoid Euro clash.

COVENTRY BEES have called off Thursday night's Elite League home meeting with Arena-Essex at Brandon.

The Coventry management have decided to cancel the fixture to avoid a clash with England's Euro 2004 quarter-final against Portugal in Lisbon.

Next Monday's scheduled trip to Swindon is also off. The fixture, due to be televised live by Sky Sports, has been replaced by Swindon versus Peterborough. There is no new date for either the Arena fixture or the visit to Swindon.

COVENTRY'S Chris Harris guested for Premier League Exeter last night - and piled up a 15-point maximum. Harris, available after Coventry's Elite League match at Belle Vue was called off because of England's Euro 2004 showdown with Croatia, led the way as the Falcons demolished Sheffield 64-30 in the first leg of a Premier Trophy semi-final.

BOSS, the official Bees Supporters Club, are staging a greyhound night at Brandon on Wednesday June 30. The cost is pounds 6 for admission, a race card and a buffet in one of the private boxes. Entrance is by ticket - available to BOSS members only - and they can be ordered by ringing Alan Goodman on 01788-562132.

FORMER Bees skipper Billy Hamill has been forced to pull out of tomorrow night's appearance at the Nuneaton Speedway Supporters Club. Hamill was due to be present to publicise his new biography, 'No Bull'. He has also called off a similar event at the Victoria public house in Cradley this Saturday.
