SPECTRUM OPENS 4 NEW OFFICES TO MEET MARKET DEMANDS FOR MOBILE COMPUTING SOLUTIONS; FACILITIES OPENED IN LOS ANGELES, RICHMOND, ATLANTA & CHICAGO

MANHASSET, N.Y., April 19 /PRNewswire/ -- In response to market demands to increase sales force productivity with mobile computing solutions, Spectrum Information Technologies, Inc. (Spectrum) (NASDAQ-NMS: SPCL) today announced it has opened four new offices to serve Fortune 2000 corporations. Located in Los Angeles, Richmond, Va., Atlanta and Chicago, the regional facilities are offering systems integration solutions for corporations seeking ways to increase efficiency and sales with their field force.
"Corporations nationwide are finding the Spectrum approach -- the integration of mobile computers, cellular telephones and wireless communications, backed by training service and support -- is a painless way to get dramatic increases in sales force productivity," said Spectrum's president and CEO, Peter Caserta. "With the new offices, Spectrum can work more closely with top corporations in these major markets."
The new Spectrum offices' staff received special training on providing a mobile computing solution geared to a company's present system configuration, including LAN network connectivity, and a company's culture. "Spectrum's system integration staff help a company increase sales with productivity tools and customized applications, not with an expensive reengineering of a company's computer and telecommunications infrastructure," said John Silver, regional vice president of the recently opened Los Angeles facility.
"As the only systems integrator specializing in mobile computing, we have extensive experience in helping customers go mobile," said Silver. "We also are the only company that can take any phone, any computer and any modem and integrate them into the mobile office," said Silver.
Spectrum, through its subsidiary Data One, designs, markets and services portable communications and computing systems as a systems integrator. Its clients include Ascom Timeplex, Travelers Insurance, Coopers Lybrand, Con Edison, Polaroid Corp., United Airlines, Penzoil Products Co., Johnson & Johnson, and Aid to Lutherans.
Spectrum Information Technologies, Inc. (Spectrum) is headquartered in Manhasset with facilities nationwide. Spectrum is a leader in developing, marketing and supporting integrated wireless data communications systems using patented technology and proprietary methods to enhance productivity and effectiveness among mobile executives and field forces.
