SPECTRUM INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES ANNOUNCES PILOT WIRELESS DATA CONTRACT WITH CON EDISON

 MANHASSET, N.Y., Dec. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Spectrum Information Technologies, Inc., ("Spectrum") (NASDAQ-NMS: SPCL), today announced it has reached an agreement with Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc. to deploy its first mobile office, wireless solution for their Staten Island customer outreach program. Con Edison will spearhead this effort, utilizing Spectrum's wireless technology AXSYS System in conjunction with Compaq's most advanced wireless data transmissions for Con Edison Field operatives to enhance productivity. This is a pilot project to test interfacing a portable computer with Con Edison's System through a cellular telephone connection.
