SPECTRUM AND MOTOROLA IN AGREEMENT FOR DEVELOPMENT AND SUPPLY OF DSP BOARDS THROUGH 1994

 BURNABY, British Columbia, Sept. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Spectrum Signal Processing (NASDAQ-NMS: SSPIF) (VSE: SSY), the North American market leader in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) development systems, today announced it has agreed with Motorola, Inc. to design and manufacture a DSP board set to be used in strategic telecommunications technologies.
 The terms of the agreement with Motorola call for Spectrum to do the development and initial manufacture of two boards. Production will begin in the fourth quarter of 1993 and extend through 1994. Future plans and details of the agreement with Motorola will be announced in the fourth quarter of 1993.
 "We are excited about the business opportunities this latest project holds for us," said Barry Jinks, Spectrum's President and CEO. "This telecommunications market could easily consume tens of thousands of DSP boards over the next few years, with the bulk being delivered in 1994 and 1995."
